"Hi. I wanted to send Dr. Boone an email. My 14 year old daughter, McRae Mayfield, had been in to see her several times this past Spring – she was having terrible lower right quadrant pain and some blood in her urine. While trying to figure out what was the matter, Dr. Boone was truly one of the few doctors we saw who actually seemed to care about what was happening and made actual suggestions on actions we should take to help my daughter. We were so appreciative of this. She had asked for us to let her know if we ever found out what was wrong and I had totally forgotten to do so until now.

My daughter ended up having surgery in June, they removed her appendix and afterwards she was a new child, totally pain free. It was not appendicitis as her CT scans, labwork etc all came back clear. The surgeon (at CHOA) said it was something known as appendicle colic. Not common but does happen. She has been doing great since the surgery and is now back to the active life of a healthy teenager. Just wanted to give Dr. Boone the update and tell her thanks again for being such a caring, concerned doctor. If we never need a urologist in the future – we know exactly where to go."

I went to see Dr. Boone and she reassured me that because I was not a smoker it was probably nothing but we took it the tumor out and it was cancerous.
